Japanese sweets inspired by the mountain cherry blossoms of Sakuragawa City, Ibaraki Prefecture, a long-established cherry blossom viewing spot, will be available for a limited time until the end of March at Sweet Taste, located on the first basement floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building. The mountain cherry blossoms of Sakuragawa change color in a variety of ways depending on the temperature. Each brand has created innovative sweets that evoke the feeling of spring, exclusively for Isetan Shinjuku. Kanra offers the "Mizu Sakura" (240 yen), a cherry blossom sweet with a new texture, featuring cherry blossom-colored Domyoji rice cakes encased in a transparent cherry blossom agar jelly. The subtle flavor of cherry blossom liqueur adds a refreshing touch. Obusedo Shinjuku has introduced the "Kuri Kanoko Sakuramochi" (350 yen), a traditional Japanese sweet based on Kanoko rice cakes. This delicious treat features chestnut paste and large chestnuts kneaded together in a chewy pastry, reminiscent of cherry blossoms and young leaves.

Some items will surprise you not only with their appearance, but also with their taste. Engaten has created a new texture, the "Crystal Mooncake Sakuramochi" (400 yen), made with sweet bean paste wrapped in cherry blossom-colored jelly. The accompanying sauce is also made with cherry blossom ingredients, bringing out the charm of cherry blossoms to the fullest.

Also, Ameya Eitaro, popular for its packaging reminiscent of a lip gloss tube, has added a new spring flavor to its signature item, "Sweet Lip." The "Sweet Lip with Silver Leaf" flavor lineup includes Sakura, Damask Rose Petal, Lychee, Amaou, and Rosehip Hibiscus (700 yen each), all sure to appeal to the feminine heart.

Feel the spring with these cherry blossom sweets, which come in different shapes, colors, and flavors, just like the blooming mountain cherry blossoms.
