Lanvin's Fall/Winter 2015-16 collection was inspired by Morocco, Alber Elbaz's birthplace. The first half of the show had a masculine feel. Short jackets trimmed in contrasting colors, pants tucked into long boots, caps worn low over the eyes, long coats, and side stripes on the sides of pants created a military impression. Dresses in black, white, and navy color blocks were minimalist. Tassels, seen throughout the looks, are this season's most distinctive design detail. The fringe covering the seams of multifaceted dresses, Mongolian lamb fur blousons, feather-trimmed skirts, tight skirts with gorgeous fringe, and long red coats all accentuated the tassel look. Draped dresses were accentuated at the waist with leather harnesses. The supple fabric and the restraining feel of the leather created a sensual effect.
The second half of the show featured a variety of exotic prints reminiscent of Morocco. Pajama suits, skirts and tops paired with striped coats, and kaftan-like dresses were featured. Paired with ponytail trench coats and mink multi-fur coats, they were truly gorgeous. The show ended on a spectacular note with black capes, coats, and hats embroidered with floral sequins.
