Louis Vuitton Matsuya Ginza Store Watch & Fine Jewelry Salon Renewed

Sep 5, 2015

The Louis Vuitton Matsuya Ginza Watch & Fine Jewelry Salon (3-6-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) reopened on September 4th. The store, which opened in 2008 as Japan's only store specializing in watches and fine jewelry, was designed by Peter Marino, who also designed the Vendôme Paris Watch & Fine Jewelry Salon. Like the Vendôme store, a tapestry of Fahad Moshiri's "Bride 3" artwork hangs at the back of the store. The bright and open façade features gold monogram-motif curtains that sparkle in the light from Chuo-dori Avenue, creating a glamorous atmosphere that draws customers in. Model Kozue Akimoto attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the reopening. Her large white gold and diamond necklace stood out against her black mini dress and dark hair. The guests celebrated the reopening wearing necklaces, earrings, and rings from the "Dentelles de Monogram" series, featuring Monogram Flowers and diamond lace, totaling over 7 million yen. Frédéric Grainger, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton Japan, and Hamdi Shanti, Vice President of Global Watches and Fine Jewelry, also attended the event. The "LV 55" series watch, which is being released worldwide first and is also displayed in the store's façade showcase, is a special item for the reopening. While the watch will be released worldwide in January of next year, Matsuya Ginza has begun accepting pre-orders and will be available in stores from October 16th. The watch's simple face, accented with green hands, makes it easy to wear daily. It is housed in the "Malle Aluminum" case, an aluminum trunk trademarked by Louis Vuitton in 1905. Limited-edition items from the reopening are also available, and are already close to selling out. The collection includes two Tambour Monogram watches in soft pink and a Monogram Idylle bracelet.
