Dior launched its new fine jewelry collection, "Soie Dior," in July. Designed by jewelry designer Victor de Castellane, the "Soie" in "Soie Dior" refers to a silk ribbon, and the collection captures the moment when the ribbon randomly transitions from one movement to another, folding, rolling, twisting, unfolding, torsion, and turning inside out. The precise creations, such as the pavé-set gold and necklace shapes, express the ribbon's free movement as three-dimensionally as possible, reflecting the suppleness of silk within the jewelry. To capture the suppleness of silk within the stones, Paris's finest high jewelry artisans used their ingenuity and know-how to create this collection. To recreate the free movement of the ribbon as closely as possible, the gold is articulated throughout. In the diamond necklaces, the varying heights of the stone settings, using a variety of cuts including trapeze, emerald, oval, cushion and brilliant, create a rhythm that expresses the lustrous sparkle of silk in three dimensions.

Victoire de Castellane commented on this collection, "People instinctively play with ribbons, enjoying the shapes that appear and disappear in an instant. I wanted to express this free movement directly."
