Yves Saint Laurent Beaute's world-first concept store, the Yves Saint Laurent Color Showroom, opened on September 5th in the West Park section of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku.
The Color Showroom, which is filled with the world of Yves Saint Laurent Beaute, offers one of Japan's largest color wardrobes, including best-selling items and items not available in Japan, and offers special services specialized in makeup, such as private makeup advice from Japan's only senior makeup artist and original gift wrapping.
The makeup advice, based on five original looks proposed by YSL Makeup Creative Director Lloyd Simmons for the Color Showroom, offers three plans based on Yves Saint Laurent's unique "makeup styling" perspective. In the quick three-minute "One-Point Retouch" session, customers can choose one of the following: eyebrows, eyeliner, point eye color, point base, blush, or lipstick. A YSL beauty specialist will then provide a professional three-minute makeup look to enhance their everyday makeup. The 15-minute "Makeup Styling" session offers a comprehensive makeup look incorporating on-trend makeup to suit individual needs and clothing preferences. Additionally, as a special service exclusive to the Color Showroom, customers who spend ¥15,000 or more can receive a 75-minute "Private Makeup Advice" (reservation required) from senior makeup artist Jo Takahashi. After answering a simple questionnaire, customers can select their ideal image of the woman they desire. Jo Takahashi will then provide one-on-one makeup recommendations tailored to their fashion taste, individual bone structure, skin type, and complexion. After experiencing Jo Takahashi's makeup, customers can try out the advice for themselves. JO TAKAHASHI will carefully advise on detailed techniques, such as brush angle and how to blend the product into the skin, to maximize each individual's charm. The session can be recorded on a smartphone or other device. "Each woman has her own makeup history," says JO TAKAHASHI. "I will propose makeup that will highlight that history and bring out the best in each person's individuality and charm. I hope that people will enjoy makeup to the fullest, adding a touch of spice to their overall outfit, including their fashion." Also available are gift boxes with exclusive designs for the Color Showroom (additional fees apply), as well as colors not yet available in Japan: "Couture Variation" (¥11,500), "Radiant Touch" (¥5,000), "La Laque Couture" (¥3,200), and "Rouge Pur Couture (Matte)" (¥4,000).
In the stylish showroom, reminiscent of a Parisian night, an image movie featuring YSL muse, model Cara Delevingne, is screened, exuding the brand's unique sensual rock spirit. Be sure to experience it in store.
