
"Sam Peckinpah: Passion and Aesthetics," a documentary film exploring the life of legendary film director Sam Peckinpah, will be released on September 26th. To commemorate this, Takahiro Miyashita The Soloist, a great admirer of Peckinpah, will be releasing an original T-shirt.
Sam Peckinpah is said to have revolutionized filmmaking with his stunning directing style and innovative editing. His many masterpieces include "The Wild Bunch," which depicts the tragic end of outlaws left behind by the times, and "The Getaway," which depicts the madness and sadness of war and won the International Federation of Film Critics' Award at the Cannes Film Festival.
The upcoming release of "Sam Peckinpah: A Tale of Two Lifetimes" focuses on the life of Sam Peckinpah, a man born into a strict family supported by a lawyer father, who donned the mask of a drill sergeant and rose to become known as a legendary film director. The film follows the life of this legendary director, who was beloved by many of his peers despite his struggles with drugs, and takes audiences back to the 1960s and 1970s, a time of adventurous filmmaking, asking, "Have we forgotten the passion and aesthetics of those times?"
To commemorate the release of the film, an original T-shirt by Takahiro Miyashita the Soloist, a Sam Peckinpah enthusiast, and a collaboration T-shirt between the film and Hardcore Chocolate will be released. On September 26th, opening day attendees will be given a free bottle of Tecate, Mexico's national beer, beloved by Sam Peckinpah, on a first-come, first-served basis.
In addition, Theater Image Forum will be screening Sam Peckinpah's masterpiece The Wild Bunch from September 26th to October 2nd, and his feature film directorial debut, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, from October 3rd to 9th.
