The 72nd Venice International Film Festival began on September 2nd (local time). Unfortunately, no Japanese films were entered in the main competition or other categories this year, but the lineup of films starring Hollywood stars, including the opening film "Everest 3D" starring Jake Gyllenhaal, made for a glamorous red carpet. Amber Heard, who attended the screenings of her respective films with her husband Johnny Depp, first posed for a photo with her husband at the official screening of "Black Mass." She showed off her husband's charm by wearing a simple Stella McCartney dress with her hair down. The following day, at the official screening of her own film, "The Danish Girl," she appeared in a floral strapless Alexander McQueen dress with her hair tied up, exuding her Hollywood star aura.
Hannah Bagshawe, wife of Eddie Redmayne, who stars in the film, also wore a nude-colored long dress by Alexander McQueen. Fellow star Alicia Vikander wore a long dress by Louis Vuitton. The classic style with meticulous embroidery gave off a refined image.
Also, Kristen Stewart, who appeared in "Equals," which was also filmed in Tokyo last summer, wore a silver dress by Chanel. The highlight was the asymmetrical hemline with lace. She also wore Chanel, for which she is a muse, at the photocall.
Dakota Johnson of "A Bigger Splash" wore Marc Jacobs for the official screening and a Rodarte dress for the photocall. The black poppy floral print, Chinese collar, and oriental details caught the eye. Dakota also showed off a flawless style in a powder pink Prada dress for the official screening of "Black Mass."
The film festival runs until the 12th (local time). Attention will likely be focused on the outfits of the actresses who will be attending from now on.
