"99 Minutes: A Journey Through the World," a gourmet documentary film that follows gourmets who have mastered the art of eating to the ends of the earth, will be released at the end of January next year. Produced in Sweden under the title "FOODIES," the film features Michelin-starred restaurants scattered around the globe. These renowned establishments usually refuse to allow interviews, and top chefs feast their eyes, palates, and hearts on a variety of delicacies. How was it possible to film at these renowned establishments that refuse interviews? It's all thanks to the five gourmets who act as our guides. Known as "foodies," these people travel the globe in search of the best restaurants, and they use social media to share their knowledge. The five featured in this film are considered "top gourmets," boasting millions of followers, the trust of chefs, and the ability to instantly secure a table at even the most difficult-to-reserve restaurants. They're so-called VIPs. Using their sharpened senses, they will savor everything from cutting-edge dishes whose innovative presentations have reached the level of art to ancient cuisines encapsulating the timeless history of China's mountains. The foodies will guide you through 29 restaurants around the world, including three-star restaurants like Pierre Gagnaire (Paris) and Flocons de Sel (Megeve) that are considered "worth the journey," two-star restaurants considered "worth the detour," and the hottest new restaurants. Among them are Kyoto's long-established ryotei (Kikunoi), a pride of Japan, and Tokyo renowned restaurants such as Sushi Saito, Jimbocho Den, and Miyako Sushi. The trailer also features rare firsthand accounts of the extraordinary foodies, who sometimes eat more than 60 meals a day, sharing their passion for fine cuisine, as well as the dedication and dedication of top chefs from renowned restaurants.
This film has also been officially selected for the Panorama section of the 28th Tokyo International Film Festival (screening dates and other details will be announced at a later date).
