■ "The Snow Queen" by Hans Christian Andersen

This high-quality picture book, based on a story by Hans Christian Andersen, a renowned Danish fairy tale writer and poet, and illustrated by SANNA NNNUKKA, also a designer for Marimekko, is enjoyable for adults as well. The original book was released in the UK at the end of October, and the Japanese version, translated by Yu Komiya, was published in November.

Andersen's stories, such as "The Ugly Duckling," "The Little Match Girl," and "The Emperor's New Clothes," are widely known around the world, and "The Snow Queen" was written in 1844. It has been adapted into films and plays many times, and is considered a classic masterpiece that continues to influence various works today.

In her own work, Sanna Annucka values incorporating the traditions and cultures of the world and weaving stories into patterns, and this is her second picture book adaptation of an Andersen fairy tale, following "The Fir Tree." The binding is cloth-bound with silver foil on the cover, making it a recommended gift for the upcoming season.
