Dick Bruna's Miffy celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. Miffy, a hugely popular character in Japan, has collaborated with Urban Closet on the second floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku to open a pop-up shop inspired by home parties, "HOME PARTY with miffy." The shop will run until the 8th. The buyer behind the project explained, "Many of Urban Closet's customers are mothers, and December is a popular month for home parties. We created original items inspired by the kind of items you'd want to choose when hosting guests or when you're invited to a party yourself. Miffy, in particular, has many fans among both parents and children, and with the 60th anniversary coming up, we proposed a collaboration to Dick Bruna, which led to this event." The highlight of this collaboration is the limited-edition items created in collaboration between Ready for the Weekend and Miffy. The knitwear, featuring Miffy's ears peeking out from the chest pocket, comes in two colors, navy and white, and is available in adult sizes (19,000 yen) and children's sizes (110, 120, and 130 sizes, 12,000 yen). The lineup also includes a knit dress (23,000 yen) accented with the Bruna colors of "orange, yellow, blue, green, and white" used in Dick Bruna's picture books, and a striped high-neck sweater (19,000 yen) featuring Miffy on the back. To style it with the Miffy collaboration items, we recommend the knee-length skirt with tutu (19,000 yen), perfect for party season. Available in black and white, the tutu can be removed like an apron, allowing you to enjoy layering it with your existing pants or skirts.
Also, with party scenes in mind, SACRA will be releasing a mohair knitwear (29,000 yen) and knit dress (39,000 yen) exclusively at Isetan Mitsukoshi. The knitwear comes in pale tones such as white, khaki, light gray, and pink, and features a detachable tutu peeking out from the hem. It seems like you can create a different atmosphere to suit the occasion.
The shop also carries Miffy picture books, pouches, and stationery, perfect for gift exchanges and souvenirs at home parties. In addition, the window next to the shop features photo frames that faithfully recreate Dick Bruna's worldview, making it a fun place to take commemorative photos with your children. A perfect space for preparing for a home party and sharing ideas has been created.
