Following on from the 2015-16 Spring/Summer collection, SENSE OF PLACE by URBAN RESEARCH will be releasing its 2015-16 Autumn/Winter image visuals, featuring actress Rie Miyazawa.
The new shoot was handled by contemporary artist INA JANG, who was nominated as a finalist at the 2011 Hyères International Fashion and Photography Festival and was also selected for FOAM Talent, a program known as a springboard for young artists.
Rarely for a brand's advertising visuals, the photographer is a genuine contemporary artist rather than a commercial photographer. The resulting image visuals are a modern fusion of commercial and artistic elements. This time, the theme is "anonymous," and the visuals capture the energy inherent in Rie Miyazawa, such as her "dignity as a woman" and "the power to move people's hearts just by being there." In the visuals, Miyazawa Rie wears items that represent the theme of the 15-16 AW collection, "70's folklore" (a nostalgic, patriarchal 1970s style that incorporates folklore influences), such as a long-silhouette dress, an oversized gown coat, beige colors, and denim. Regarding the visuals, Miyazawa Rie commented, "Sense of Place's spring 2015 image visuals, featuring Furuta Arata, were very stimulating, and I also liked the creative direction. I accepted the offer in the hope of creating interesting works together by working with photographers who are active around the world."
