Loro Piana will release its Spring/Summer 2022 collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara on April 6. This collection, Loro Piana's second collaboration with Fujiwara, features fabric designs that combine the essence of streetwear with the Maison's refinement and know-how. Following on from last season, the collection reflects a respect for diversity and originality, as well as a desire to explore new worlds.

Fujiwara, both a creator and musician, demonstrates his diverse talents in a variety of fields. His unique vision, which has had a major impact on modern fashion history, transcends distance and cultural differences, and guides Loro Piana's unparalleled, traditional craftsmanship into the future in innovative ways. The purity inherent in Japanese culture and the Maison's timeless elegance are perfectly harmonious in genderless, functional, comfortable, and sophisticated clean-lined clothing and accessories.

The second Loro Piana featuring Hiroshi Fujiwara collection is comprised of dynamic clothing and functional accessories. Fujiwara's signature color palette of white, black, and navy blue is complemented by the high-quality, comfortable materials and attention to detail that are so characteristic of Loro Piana. For example, a soft sweater made from a sustainably evolved silk and cotton blend, perfect for summer, features a modern and original Breton stripe that gives it a refined yet sporty feel.

"This is our second collaboration, and I've learned a lot more, making it easier than last time. I even tried out shapes that Loro Piana doesn't typically use," says Fujiwara.

Additionally, a multicolored striped pattern, inspired by the stripes that appeared on the canvas of the trunks used by Loro Piana sales staff to transport fabric samples from the 1970s to the 1990s, is used on several items as a homage to Fujiwara's artistic journey. Other items in the collection include a relaxed tracksuit made from a high-quality wool fabric usually used for tailored suits, a cotton jersey parka featuring a maxi-sized, graffiti-style Loro Piana logo on the front, and a striped tote bag large enough to hold an LP record. The collection also includes a large cashmere-silk polka-dot scarf and a cotton T-shirt featuring a print of Loro Piana's iconic vicuna, an animal painted by artist Rei Imai. An oversized trench coat blends Loro Piana's signature features, such as the tucked-in hood detail of the Maison's iconic Traveler Jacket and the innovative combination of Wind Microfiber and Storm System®, with Fujiwara's clean minimalism. The Loro Piana featuring Hiroshi Fujiwara Spring/Summer 2022 Collection will be available from April 6th at the Loro Piana Ginza store, pop-up stores at Isetan Shinjuku and Hankyu Umeda Flagship Store, as well as the official online store. It will also be available from April 8th at the Loro Piana Nagoya Matsuzakaya store and the Loro Piana Fukuoka Iwataya Men's Store. To celebrate the release of the collection, Loro Piana Ginza will host a small exhibition on its fourth floor VIP floor from April 6 to May 8, featuring an installation inspired by the collection and unpublished works by Kanagawa Prefecture-based artist Rei Imai, who is also featured on the collection's T-shirts. In addition to the original artwork for the collection's T-shirts, "VICUNA," depicting the vicuña, Loro Piana's iconic animal, the exhibition will also feature five works depicting everyday life through her unique perspective and style. "I was invited by a friend to see Rei Imai's exhibition for the first time, and I fell in love with her work at first sight. Her work is pop and catchy, yet somehow avant-garde," says Fujiwara. "I simply love Rei's work and thought it would be a perfect fit for Loro Piana," says Fujiwara. This collaboration came about because "I simply love her work and thought it would be a perfect fit for Loro Piana."
