Hyatt to open new hotel "Hyatt Centric" on Ginza Namiki-dori in early 2018

Dec 25, 2015

Hyatt Hotels' newest lifestyle brand hotel, Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo, will debut in Japan in early 2018.
Hyatt Centric is Hyatt's newest lifestyle brand, launched in January 2015. The brand's core philosophy is "a gateway to a city's most exciting attractions," aiming to become a central hotel in the destination and invite guests to engage in captivating experiences. Currently operating in Chicago and Miami, Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo will open in New York, Paris, and other locations in the future.
The planned site for Hyatt Centric Ginza Tokyo, which will open in 2018, is the Ginza Asahi Building (tentative name), a 12-story mixed-use building owned and developed by the Asahi Shimbun Company on Namiki-dori in Ginza. The hotel will occupy 10 floors (from the third to the twelfth floors) and will feature 164 guest rooms, a dining and bar with terrace seating, a small event space, and a gym equipped with the latest fitness equipment. The dining area can be divided or connected depending on the purpose, making it suitable for a wide range of uses, from meetings to parties.

The hotel's interior design was handled by Strickland, led by Yohei Akao, with the concept of "incorporating the two opposing values of Ginza - tradition and innovation - into the space."
