From January 1st to 31st, 2016, the Andaz Tokyo pastry shop will be holding a "Strawberry Promotion," featuring desserts made with three different brand strawberries: Amaou, Saga Honoka, and Sachinoka.
For this promotion, pastry chef Masateru Okazaki will create special desserts that utilize the characteristics of three different varieties of popular Kyushu strawberries, enhancing the natural flavor of the ingredients.
The "Strawberry Roll Cake (Amaou)" (500 yen) uses Amaou strawberries, known for their high sugar content and rich strawberry flavor. The moist roll cake, baked with reduced sugar, further enhances the natural sweetness of the Amaou strawberries.
The "Strawberry Tart (Saga Honoka)" (550 yen) uses Saga Honoka strawberries, known for their firm fruit, mild acidity, and bright red color, and offers an exquisite balance of crispy tart, strawberry texture, and custard cream.
The "Strawberry Trifle (Sachinoka)" (550 yen), made with "Sachinoka," which has a slightly strong fragrance and a unique balance of sourness and sweetness, is a dessert full of fun discoveries, with layers of strawberry jelly, strawberry sponge, custard, and more. The deep bright red skin and pale red core that are unique to "Sachinoka" are also vivid.
In addition, a luxurious strawberry assortment (650 yen) will be available, where three different varieties - "Saga Honoka," "Amaou," and "Sachinoka" - are placed on a white chocolate board filled with freeze-dried strawberries, allowing you to enjoy comparing each variety.
