Jun 23, 2016

For a limited time from July 1st to August 21st, Omotesando Hills will be offering "chilled menus" at 16 restaurants and cafes, including six new eateries that opened as part of the 10th anniversary renovation.

The fair will offer a variety of menus with a "sparkling summer" theme. For sweets, Hugo & Victor on the first floor of the main building will be selling strawberry and mango flavors of "Fluffy Shaved Ice" (864 yen), a new type of shaved ice that melts in your mouth like cotton candy. Max Brenner Chocolate Bar on the same floor will be offering the "Summer Blue Sky Waffle" (1,600 yen), a waffle topped with ramune soda, mint chocolate chip ice cream, and whipped cream. At Kageyamaro on the third floor of the main building, the soft, melt-in-your-mouth dessert "Kageyamaro Xue Hua Bing" (842 yen) will be available in four flavors: mango cream, mango almond jelly, cafe cream, and cafe almond jelly. Yasai-ya Mei will be introducing "Cool Tomato Jelly" (810 yen), a refreshing jelly coated with tomatoes and a light white wine aroma. Other items on the menu include "MANGO COCONUT BOWL" (1,250 yen) from Forbidden Fruit on the first floor of the West Building, which uses plenty of cupuaçu, also known as the "fruit of the gods," and the superfood chia seeds. Toraya Cafe on the first basement floor of the main building will also be offering "Mango and Soy Milk Mizore" and "Citron Ginger Mizore" (1,188 yen each). On the third floor of the main building, Salvatore Cuomo will serve up the "Creative Cool Caprese" (1,728 yen), a caprese salad chilled to perfection by pouring liquid nitrogen at -196 degrees Celsius into the plate; 37 Roast Beef's "Fresh Oyster with Wasabi Cocktail Sauce" (972 yen), which is served with a spicy wasabi cocktail sauce; and Bar à Vin Partage's "Raw Sea Urchin and Grilled Eggplant with Tomato Consommé Jelly" (1,296 yen), which combines grilled eggplant with rich sea urchin and chilled tomato consommé jelly. Also available are "White Kasomen Noodles" (1,512 yen) from Tsukiji Tamazushi Sasashigure and "Tomato Sashimi" (702 yen) from Kyoto Vegetable Bar Mei. Additionally, Spätzle Cafe & Wine on the third basement floor of the main building will be offering the "Seafood Jelly with Five-Color Polka Dot Sauce" (1,620 yen), a luxurious jelly made with shrimp, snow crab, sea urchin, and other ingredients, resembling a jewel box, topped with five vibrantly colored sauces: basil, paprika, cream, squid ink, and turmeric. For drinks, Golden Brown on the third floor of the main building will be offering fresh fruit squash, squeezed in-house. The lineup includes three varieties: "Grapefruit & Lemon Squash" (860 yen), "Orange & Mint Squash" (860 yen), and "Soda Lime Squash" (920 yen). Hasegawa Liquor Store will be introducing "Onoya's Marine Lemon" (648 yen), made with the precious "Marine Lemon" lemons grown in Tsurumi, Saiki City, Oita Prefecture. Additionally, Green Bar on the third basement floor of the main building will be offering "Citrus Jelly in Lemonade Soda (540 yen)," which is lemonade made from domestic lemons slowly steeped in honey mixed with soda.
