Gucci has announced the second phase of its DIY (Do It Yourself) customization program, expanding the range of customizable items to include menswear, unisex jackets, and men's and women's shoes.
The service launched on May 25, 2016, with the Dionysus bag at the Gucci flagship store on Via Montenapoleone. Men's items now include a wide variety of jackets, blazers, tuxedos, and coats, offering both day and evening wear. A wide selection of fabrics, buttons, and initial lettering are available. Bomber jackets and denim jackets have also been added to the unisex lineup.
Additionally, patches and embroidery featuring various king snake, flower, and bee motifs are available as accents on shirt collars and cuffs, or as large patches on the backs of tailored and denim jackets.
Many shoe models are also available in unisex versions. "ACE" sneakers can be personalized with embroidered initials. The dressy slippers are available in a variety of materials and colors, and in addition to the horsebit and initial stamp options, a tiger head patch can also be added to the upper. The classic style "New Signoria" comes in lace-up, monk strap, and loafer styles, and is also available in a wide range of materials and colors. Initial stamping is also available on the insole.
The service is scheduled to be expanded to Japan in November.
