Pure and functional: Dior presents the "MIDI" collection by Pierre Yovanovitch

Mar 17, 2022

The collection designed by interior designer Pierre Yovanovich for Dior evokes the meeting of two stories: one about Château de La Colle Noire in the village of Montroux in the Var, which Christian Dior acquired in the 1950s; and the other about Château de Fabregues*, 65 km away, which Pierre Yovanovich spent 10 years breathing new life into. Like Christian Dior, who often spent time in the Carian plains, Pierre Yovanovich is a "child of the south", born in Nice and attached to the place.

Named "MIDI," a term for the South of France, the collection reflects the region's ties and is inspired by the words with which Christian Dior defined his La Colle Noire estate: "simple, solid, noble." Pure and functional, a reflection of Pierre Jovanovich's savoir-faire, "MIDI" pays attention to traditional woodworking techniques and the combination of noble materials, crafted from local, sustainable materials chosen for their beauty and timelessness.

This collaboration is part of a story that the House of Dior has been telling since the 1970s, with Gabriela Crespi, a leading figure in contemporary design. These pieces are available at our temporary store.
*Located at the entrance to the Verdon National Park.
