Van Cleef & Arpels' new watch embodies gentlemanly elegance and a sense of adventure

Jan 8, 2015

Van Cleef & Arpels has released a new watch, the Pierre Arpels Heure Dici et Heure Daiyole (4,025,000 yen). This watch, the latest addition to the Pierre Arpels collection, was unveiled at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2014 in Geneva in January 2014. The time display disc, capable of displaying two time zones, evokes the present moment and the distant horizon, poetically expressing the yearning for travel. The asymmetrical dial features a white lacquer finish and a piqué motif. The decoration, reminiscent of a ballgown shirtfront and the brand's hallmark, evokes the refined charm of a gentleman. The name, written in delicate cursive, evokes the poetic resonance of the words.

In keeping with the collection's distinctive thin case, the new model employs an automatic movement manufactured by Agenhor. Its most notable features are the jumping dual time display and retrograde minute display. The internal mechanism can be seen through sapphire crystal, with the bridges adorned with a swirl pattern and the brand's hallmark, and the micro-rotor adorned with a blue lacquer design reminiscent of a piqué motif.

The collection also includes a "Pierre Arpels Platinum" model. The black lacquered dial also features a piqué motif. The contrast with the platinum bezel creates an impression of elegance, reminiscent of men's dress codes.

Two sizes are available: 38mm and 42mm. Furthermore, models with different bezel designs, with or without diamond embellishments, are also available.
