Akiko Yano will release her new studio ensemble album, "Tobite Ikuyo," on March 26th, her first in five and a half years since "akiko." This album, her first since moving to a new label, showcases an electronic pop world that connects with her 1980s sound, produced with the full support of YMO. In addition to new songs, the album features 11 tracks, including "Telephone Line" from her debut album, "JAPANESE GIRL," a self-cover of "Zai Canton Boy," a hit song performed on the YMO world tour and popular overseas, her debut performance of "Kataomoi," a track she wrote for Minako Yoshida's 1976 classic album, "FLAPPER," her own arrangement of Off Course's "YES-YES-YES," an evolved version of the original version, "ISETAN-TAN-TAN," the official song released to coincide with the renewal of Isetan's tartan check, and "Rilakkuma no Watashi," the theme song for Rilakkuma's 10th anniversary. Recorded in Tokyo and New York, the album features 11 tracks.
Trackmakers include Yoshinori Sunahara, BOOM BOOM SATELLITES, Junichi Matsumoto (MATOKKU), sasakure.UK, AZUMA HITOMI, and Marc Ribou's Ceramic Dog, with Ohashi Trio and Sakamoto Miu participating on chorus.
In addition, a special video, "Tobisutekikuyo - Trailer," which combines the track of the album's title track, "Tobisutekikuyo," with footage of the album's recording, has been released for a limited time on YouTube.
