On October 30th, to coincide with the relaunch of Isetan's tartan check pattern, Akiko Yano will release her new song, "ISETAN-TAN-TAN." It will be released exclusively on the iTunes Store on the same day as the official Isetan song celebrating the new tartan check. This heartwarming pop song, set to a light and sophisticated techno sound, depicts the emotional landscape unfolding between family members. Yano's daughter, Miu Sakamoto, contributes to the chorus, marking the first mother-daughter recording in 11 years since "Kumanbachi ga Tonkita." Akiko Yano is such an avid Isetan fan that whenever she visits Japan, the first thing she does is visit the store. In 1999, she included an original song themed around Isetan, "ISETAN-TAN," on her album "Go Girl." While this was not officially approved by Isetan, this time she has written an official song specifically for the store. Isetan is also putting a lot of effort into promoting the song, running a full-page advertisement with lyrics and featuring her as a model in the morning editions of the Asahi Shimbun and Yomiuri Shimbun on the 29th. "ISETAN-TAN-TAN" will be broadcast in all Isetan stores for a limited time from October 30th to November 12th. Akiko Yano herself is said to be in the process of recording a new album which will include the song, for release next spring.
