"HARAJUKU PERFORMANCE+ DOMMUNE," a collaboration between Laforet Harajuku's performance event "HARAJUKU PERFORMANCE+" and Naohiro Ukawa's live streaming studio and channel "DOMMUNE," will be held on December 21st and 22nd.
The first day of the event, titled "New Sound Generation," will feature two musicians, Shuta Hasunuma and Ei Wada. Miu Sakamoto will make a guest appearance with Shuta Hasunuma's "Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic." Additionally, Ei Wada's "Open Reel Ensemble," which also produces music for ISSEY MIYAKE shows, will assemble members for the event to perform a world premiere performance using nearly 20 open decks. Matsuo Ohno, who has created numerous new sound expressions, including those for "Astro Boy," has also been confirmed to participate.
The event will also feature a talk show with Hasunuma and Wada. Hasunuma has been living in New York since 2014 at the invitation of the Asian Cultural Council (ACC), and Wada has been selected to exhibit his work at Ars Electronica 2013, often referred to as the "Academy Awards of Media Art." The program is expected to explore the present and future of these noteworthy new musicians. The talk between Hasunuma and Wada will be navigated by NTT InterCommunication Center Chief Curator Minoru Hatanaka. It has also been announced that Rhizomatiks will be featuring a special event not onstage but on a video streamed via DOMMUNE (DOMMUNE will only stream the performance on the 21st). The second day will feature "Japanese Rap for the Arts, Dedicated to CITY BOYS & GIRLS!!!!", focusing on Japanese rap, a genre whose creators are rapidly gaining popularity in Japan. The five acts performing will be "□□□ (Kuchiroro)" consisting of Koji Miura, Shige Murata, and Seikou Ito, "JAZZDOMMUNISTERS," a hip-hop crew consisting of Naruyoshi Kikuchi and Yoshio Otani, the three-MC rap group "THE OTOGIBANASHI'S," the female rap unit Charisma.com, and DJ Misoshiru and MC Gohan.

The venue will be offering special sales of copies of Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic's first full-length album, "Time plays -- and so do we.", which will be released on January 15, 2014, and "JAZZ DOMMUNISTERS'" first album, "BIRTH OF DOMMUNIST."
