Hideyuki Nakayama and Niessing's collaborative exhibition touring Osaka and Nagoya this spring

Feb 14, 2014

"Graffiti Rings by Hideyuki Nakayama," a collaborative exhibition between German jewelry brand Niessing and architect Hideyuki Nakayama, will travel to Osaka and Nagoya.

The exhibition will be held at Niessing Tokyo in the fall of 2013. For Niessing's "Graffiti" jewelry, which allows pictures and text to be applied to the surface of rings, Nakayama created two sketches—a "metal tree" and a "ring of rings"—which were engraved onto the rings in Germany. An accompanying installation, displaying Niessing jewelry alongside three of Nakayama's architectural models, attracted the interest of not only jewelry fans but also those interested in architecture and design, generating a lot of buzz. The traveling exhibition will run from February 21st to March 4th at Niessing Osaka (1F Sun Maison Shinsaibashi Celebrite, 1-10-4 Nishishinsaibashi, Chuo-ku, Osaka), and from March 6th to 18th in Nagoya (1F Maruki Building, 3-19-17 Sakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya). At both venues, a talk event with Nakayama and director Okada Eizo is scheduled to start at 6:30pm on the day before the exhibition (Osaka: February 20th, Nagoya: March 5th), followed by a reception from 7pm to 9pm (the talk event is limited to 30 people and requires registration via the website. Participation in the reception is open to everyone).
