Yohji Yamamoto will debut a new accessory brand, "discord," focusing on Made in Japan, in its AW14 Pre-Fall collection. While the limited-edition collection will be available at Isetan Shinjuku starting May 12th, a selection of the collection was also unveiled at NIPPONISTA, which launched in New York on February 7th. The collection features scarves and bags. Women's shoes will be added to the collection when it debuts in May. Both the scarves and bags feature floral prints. The monochrome floral print features newly taken photos by the same photographer who shot the floral prints featured in the SS14 Men's collection. The scarves are produced and printed in Kyoto, while the leather bags are sourced in Japan, with the brand working closely with leather artisans in Tokyo. While the brand aims to evolve through its commitment to "Made in Japan" manufacturing, it does not necessarily plan to offer high-priced items. The first debut at the Isetan Shinjuku store will be on the stage on the first floor, with corners opening in the bags, women's shoes and scarves departments in due course.
