Ginza Mitsukoshi renovates its fragrance section, offering a lineup tailored to inbound demand

Feb 14, 2014

Ginza Mitsukoshi will reopen on February 25th, relocating its first-floor fragrance section to the basement. While maintaining its mission of "welcoming customers with fragrance," the store aims to create a new fragrance section befitting Ginza's location, which attracts many tourists from Japan and abroad.

The new section will feature a collection area rather than the traditional brand-specific shelves, allowing for displays that transcend brand boundaries. This will create an environment that makes product selection easier. A new section will also be installed featuring bag-sized fragrances (7.5 to 15ml) that fit easily into small bags. The redesign will include exclusive brands Atelier Cologne and L'Artisan Parfumeur, as well as bag-sized fragrances from established brands. In March, Chico, founder of SHIGETA, will add an oil fragrance blend inspired by women strolling the streets of Ginza.

Brands planned to be available include 11 fashion fragrance brands (Chloe, Bvlgari, D&G, Van Cleef & Arpels, Marc Jacobs, GUCCI, Lanvin, Jimmy Choo, Ferragamo, Prada, Valentino, Juicy Couture), and 10 maison fragrance brands (Creed, Penhaligon's, L'Artisan Parfum, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Annick Goutal, Bond No. 9, Parfums Rosine Paris, Caron, Atelier Cologne). On the opening day, seven limited edition kits and three special gifts will be available to commemorate the renewal.
