The theme of designer Tomoaki Okaniwa's 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter collection, "Two Sides of the Same Coin," was "Two Sides of the Same Coin." Garments with distinct textures on both sides were created. Examples include a shearling outerwear with a contrasting leather and fur finish. A series of fabrics featuring a wool herringbone exterior and a cotton jersey interior are emblematic of the theme. This collection showcased even more technical fabrics. The outerwear featured a three-layer construction, with leather or wool on the outside and a breathable, waterproof material sandwiched between a tricot lining. Even if the outer fabric becomes waterlogged, it will not penetrate to the lining. The tricot is also secured with waterproof tape. The collection showcased outerwear that combined outdoor functionality with sophisticated urban wear. Other items included wrinkled and randomly dyed knitwear and a set that resembled a short trouser and bell-bottom jacket. Accessories, like the clothing, were crafted with the same attention to detail as the garments, including small, shape-memory leather items and spiral boots with Vibram soles for superior drainage.
Red is used as an accent color, and a brighter black is used than before, creating a clearer impression.
