Valentino has opened a pop-up shop on the third floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building. It will be open until April 22nd. Currently, this is the only store in Japan that exclusively sells Valentino men's items. The new SS14 collection is available in store. Eye-catching items feature camouflage patterns in vivid neon colors like green, yellow, and orange. The popular Rockrunner sneaker (79,800 yen), which debuted in SS13, features a fabric upper with heat-bonded leather and a camouflage print. The heel is adorned with rubber studs. The studded sandals (29,400 yen) also feature a camouflage pattern and are a collaboration with Brazilian beach sandal brand Havaianas.

Other camouflage-patterned items include a reversible tote bag (156,450 yen), backpack (205,800 yen), T-shirts (36,750 yen), and accessories such as wallets and card cases.

The apparel section features the collection shown at the runway show. The series, made from light and soft Japanese-made linen-blend denim, is characterized by color blocking. Different colors of denim are used on the front and back, and a graphic pattern is applied in intarsia to the side.

Also available are tops accented with heat-bonded leather parts, just like the sneakers, double-face cut-and-sew items, flower-print items created using a technique that prints only on the warp threads, and items made from camouflage-patterned jacquard fabric.

"Until now, Valentino has had a strong image of heavy clothing such as suits, but this time we have also included casual items such as T-shirts and polo shirts. Although the patterns are orthodox and elegant, by using color blocking and mixing different materials, we have expressed a playfulness in the details while retaining a sense of elegance and style.
