The exhibition "FANTASY SCENCE BY DANNY PASSARELLA" by London-based British artist Danny Passarella was held in London until August 3rd.
Danny Passarella, also known as Danny Broddle, is from the northwest of England. In 2004, a few years after moving to London, he founded the cult fashion brand "Passarella Death Squad" with Emilie Albisser, which was sold in famous department stores and select shops mainly in Europe. He became famous overnight for his artistic graphic T-shirts. In 2007, Danny began his musical career as Passarella Death Squad, releasing an LP that garnered significant attention and critical acclaim, particularly in cultural publications like Vice Magazine. He has also performed alongside club-industry heavyweights like Ewan Pearson and Daniel Avery. He plans to release a new record in October. Danny's latest exhibition, "Fantasy Scenes," is his first fine art project. His music plays as background music, and digitally enhanced photographs line the walls of the gallery, which retains the distinctive London brickwork. Old-fashioned game consoles placed in out-of-place locations, along with the retro colors and neon created using cutting-edge printing techniques, create a strange sense of incongruity. Danny himself attended the exhibition's opening event, where he sent a message to his Japanese fans: "The Japanese select shop Super A Market bought my artwork. I'm so happy that my beloved Japanese fans can enjoy it overseas. I hope to eventually bring all of my artwork to Japan and hold an exhibition." Regarding his future plans, he said, "I want to create more clothing-focused works. I'm thinking of making the art pieces from this 'Fantasy Scenes' collection into T-shirts." Even before production, he's already received calls from world-renowned select shops. Furthermore, he is currently planning a new label for the Spring/Summer 2015 collection, inspired by a new, smart-casual look. It will be made in the UK using Japanese fabrics, including denim and cotton. "The label will be called 'Kempes.' I'd love to expand the collection and have it available in Japanese shops," he revealed.
