Hawaiian organic spa cosmetics brand Marie Organics opens its first Japanese store in Daikanyama

Aug 21, 2014

Hawaii-based organic spa brand Malie Organics will open its first directly managed store in Japan in Daikanyama, Tokyo, on September 6th. The brand offers creams, perfume oils, reed diffusers, and other products refined from plants grown in the Hawaiian Islands. The ingredients used are rare plants native to Hawaii's rainforests and plants harvested at the brand's own organic farms, resulting in a highly aromatic fragrance. To recreate the sweet scent of flowers and fruit, the brand extracts are extracted using a method called "hydrosol distillation." The brand name "Malie" means "calm," "tranquil," and "smooth" in Hawaiian, and embodies the brand's hopes of "creating a sense of peace of mind" and "being able to experience the healing power of Hawaiian nature." The brand's motif is the lotus flower, which blooms on the water's surface at dawn, and is featured on the brand's products as its symbol. The Daikanyama store will also carry products making their Japan debut. The bath salt "Bath Soak" (6,200 yen) removes dirt from the skin and pores, and the blend of aloe vera and kukui nut oil moisturizes and smooths the skin. "Beauty Oil" (6,800 yen) can be used on both hair and skin. Both items come in five scents: Blumeria, Pikake, Kokee, Mango Nectar, and Coconut Vanilla.
