Now in its fourth year, Shibukal Festival 2014, a festival for young female creators, will be held at Shibuya Parco from October 17th to 26th.
This year's theme is "Encounters and Experiences," and over 100 groups of young female creators will be gathering together. Lou Oshiba has been appointed special supporter, and this year's slogan has been decided as "Let's get together!". "I'm really looking forward to participating in the first-time Shibukal Festival. From now on, it's the era of women, so let's spread the power of women from Shibuya and create excitement! Everybody, let's get together!" he said, exploding in Lou's language. The "Shibukur Exhibition at Parco Museum" (running all year) allows visitors to enjoy artwork by female creators and participate in and purchase works in honor of Together. With the full cooperation of Bijutsu Techo, the "Bijutsu Techo Presents Shibukur Cup" (entries accepted until August 23rd) will solicit works from female artists, exhibit the selected works, and announce the grand prize winner during the event. The "Shibukur Music Festival 2014" (October 22nd) will bring together up-and-coming artists at Shibuya's Club Quattro. The pop idol group "Izukoneko," who gained attention after a successful crowdfunding support project, will screen their first and last film starring them, "Izukoneko at the End of the World" (October 24th). Writer Mitsuru Kuramoto will livestream works brought by female creators to the world in the "Kuramoto Mitsuru Presents Live Streaming Shibukur Show" (October 19th). There will also be a packed schedule of other events, including a performance by singer-songwriter Omori Seiko, who is also the first cast member for Parco's corporate campaign "SPECIAL IN YOU," which was revamped this summer.
