Photographer Vincent Fournier's solo exhibition begins at Diesel Gallery. Works will be shown in Japan for the first time.

Aug 27, 2014

Photographer and filmmaker Vincent Fournier's solo exhibition "ARCHEOLOGY OF THE FUTURE" has opened at the Diesel Art Gallery in Shibuya, Tokyo. It runs until November 14th.

Fournier was born in 1970 and is based in Paris, where he has worked on numerous advertisements and for magazines such as Wallpaper, GQ, Wad, and Jalouse. His works are housed in museums around the country, including the MAST Foundation in Italy and the LVMH Louis Vuitton Foundation in France, and he is currently attracting attention for his work appearing in the film "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." This exhibition will explore themes of science and technology, including space, robots, and genetic manipulation. It will feature approximately 30 photographs, videos, and 3D works from three series: Fournier's signature "SPACE PROJECT," which began in 2007 and depicts locations related to space development; "POST NATURAL HISTORY," a series introducing new species of living creatures in encyclopedia-style illustrations, and "THE MAN MACHINE," a series capturing robots appearing in everyday life like humans, all of which will be shown in Japan for the first time. During the exhibition, the gallery will also be selling the exhibited works and a collection of works. Additionally, for a limited time from August 27 to September 2, unreleased works from the Diesel Art Gallery will be on display at Center Park/The Stage 2 on the second floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building.
