"SERIES1 - THAT WAS THEN, THIS IS NOW," an exhibition looking back at Louis Vuitton's 2014-2015 Autumn/Winter collection and the creative process behind it, will be held at the Louis Vuitton Shinjuku store (3-4-8 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) from September 8th to 28th.
A related teaser video will also be released on the Louis Vuitton official website from August 29th, and on the multi-vision screen at Shibuya Scramble Crossing and various news sites from September 1st.
Series 1 is the first advertising campaign for Louis Vuitton by new artistic director Nicolas Ghesquiere. The unique styles of three renowned photographers, Annie Leibovitz, Juergen Teller, and Bruce Weber, are brought together through the collection. Leibovitz photographed Charlotte Gainsbourg in New York, Teller photographed Freja Beha in Venice, and Weber photographed models Liya Kebede, Jean Campbell, and Kirsten Liljegren in Miami. The campaign, shot at the same time and in different locations, is a trilogy of nested images that unite the visions of the three photographers, representing not only Ghesquière's collection but also his approach to fashion. Ghesquière commented, "I wanted to tell a story never before seen. The visual expression of these three people, whom I admire, is so powerful that it transcends all categories and definitions." The campaign began rolling out globally in July.
