Louis Vuitton held a runway show for its 2015 Cruise Collection, the second season under new artistic director Nicolas Ghesquiere. This was the first time a cruise collection was presented in a show.
The collection featured a variety of patterns and colors, including lace, botanical motifs, circle cuts, and stripes. The waistbands, fits, and lengths were similar to those seen in the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collections. Embroidery, piping, belt loops, and collars were expressed in different textures, creating a striking contrast with the body. Occasionally, ruffles were added to the hems of dresses and outerwear, adding movement to the tight silhouettes.
The Mini Trunk bag was introduced in the 2014-15 Autumn/Winter collection, and the "Mini" series is still going strong this time around. Another eye-catching design was a handbag with a folded side.
