Isetan (Singapore) Ltd. (hereinafter, Isetan Singapore), a consolidated subsidiary of Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings, will open a new store on December 2nd in the suburban shopping complex "Jurong Westgate Shopping Centre," opening in Singapore's Jurong East district. This will be Isetan Singapore's sixth store, joining five existing stores (Scotts, Orchard, Katong, Tampines, and Serangoon).
The new store will occupy the first floor and second basement levels of Westgate, covering a sales area of approximately 5,500 square meters. Based on the concept of "a store that is close to the daily lives of local customers and always offers high-quality, cutting-edge lifestyle products," the store will target families in their 20s to 40s living in the area, offering a wide selection of men's and women's clothing and accessories, baby products, toys, and household goods. It will also open its first suburban supermarket, showcasing Japanese food culture.
The Jurong East district is an area that the Singapore government is redeveloping as part of its sub-city plan, following on from the Tampines district. This redevelopment plan will see the area play a role as a business center, attracting many companies, and construction of a general hospital as part of the city's infrastructure has also begun. The area is also well-connected by public transport, with two MRT lines and a direct connection to Jurong East Station, which has a bus terminal.
