In December, TASCHEN will release "Jane & Serge. A Family Album" (recommended price: 8,295 yen, English version only), a photo book featuring the family of Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg. The book, compiled by Jane's brother Andrew Birkin, chronicles the 12 years spent with the French musician Serge and the British actress Jane, including their romance, duets and other collaborations, and their daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg. The book is packed with intimate photographs, beginning with Jane's 16th birthday and continuing with snapshots of Charlotte and Serge in 1979. The editorial design was handled by the Paris-based design duo M/M Paris. The book also comes with special features such as memories of Serge by siblings Jane and Andrew, commentary on the photographs, family photos of the Birkin family, a contact sheet booklet, five fold-out poster photographs, a sticker sheet, and patches. It will be released this month by a German publisher.
