Ladurée's Christmas lineup includes red stockings and limited edition macarons

Dec 3, 2013

The patisserie Ladurée is introducing limited-edition Christmas sweets.
The "Bûche Petit Sourire" (serves four, 12,500 yen) is a Christmas-colored chocolate sock-shaped sweet. It was created by the store's chef patissier, Vincent Leman, as an "edible object to enjoy." It will be available at Ladurée boutiques in Tokyo from December 22nd to 25th.
The currently available Christmas-only macaron, "Chocolat au Lait Passion Coco" (270 yen each), is a coconut-flavored pastry sandwiched between milk chocolate and passion fruit juice ganache. The "Macaron Box 'Mademoiselle Noel'" (15 pieces for 6,240 yen / 6 pieces for 2,680 yen), which contains an assortment of these limited-edition Christmas macarons, features a picture of Mademoiselle Noel, a woman wearing a Christmas tree-shaped hat. Also available is the "Coffret Cadeau Mademoiselle Noël" (4,900 yen), a box filled with your choice of chocolates, macarons, marron glacés, tea, jam, and more. The Christmas essential, the Buche de Noël, is also available. The "Buche Duchesse" (5,600 yen for four people / 1,400 yen per person), features a batter soaked in old dram and layered with chestnut cream and crushed chestnut confit. The lineup also includes the "Buche Soyeux" made with chocolate mousse, the "Buche/Bouchette Marie Antoinette" decorated with rose petals, and the "Bouchette Divine" made with black chocolate. These will be available in the Ginza Mitsukoshi catalog and at Ladurée boutiques (December 14th to 25th). The "Ispahan" room candle (7,665 yen), which captures the aroma of Ladurée's patisserie, is also available. The fragrance, which combines Bulgarian rose with lychee and raspberry, was created as a homage to Ispahan, the Maison's signature cake.
