HENRI LE ROUX will release Galette des Rois au Kouign Aman C.B.S. on January 2, 2014. This is an adaptation of the popular product Kouign Aman au C.B.S., which achieved average daily sales of approximately 2,000 yen at the Salon du Chocolat held in January this year.
Galette des Rois is a traditional pastry eaten on Epiphany, a festival celebrating the birth of Christ. A tiny, 3cm-sized miniature fève is hidden inside. It is customary for anyone who finds a fève inside to be blessed in various ways, such as wearing a crown.
A single almond, representing a fève, is hidden inside Galette des Rois au Kouign Aman C.B.S. The brioche dough, made with plenty of butter, is filled with C.B.S. (salted butter caramel), and when gently warmed, you can enjoy the moist texture of the butter. The set, which also includes a crown and fève, will be sold from January 2nd to 31st at the Tokyo Midtown store, Isetan Shinjuku main store, and Takashimaya Tamagawa store (pre-orders only from January 6th to 31st). The price is 3,675 yen.
