Designer Ferdinand Alexander Porsche was born on December 11, 1935, in Stuttgart, Germany. The eldest son of Ferry Porsche, the founder of Porsche, he visited his grandfather Ferdinand Porsche's design studio and factory from an early age. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at the prestigious Ulm School of Design, where he studied industrial design, but dropped out due to poor grades. In 1958, he joined his father's design studio, where his talent as a car designer blossomed. In 1962, he became head of Porsche's design studio, and the Porsche 911 caused a worldwide sensation. He later worked on the Type 804 Formula One car and the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS, considered the most beautiful racing car of all time. In 1972, he founded the Porsche Design Studio, which developed men's accessories such as watches, glasses, and writing instruments, and also worked on the design of industrial and household products under the brand name "Design by F.A. Porsche." He was active for many years as a car designer, industrial designer, and fashion designer, but passed away in April 2012 at the age of 76.
