Church's, a British shoe brand under the Prada Group, will open its first flagship store in Japan, the Omotesando store (5-8-1 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo), on December 14th. The 95-square-meter store was designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi. The façade features large windows surrounded by oak panels. The interior features black walnut flooring. The first floor, which houses the men's and women's collections, alternates between oak interiors and mirrors. The second floor, accessed via an oak-clad staircase, features a crystal and wood counter and green leather chairs, and houses the accessories collection. In addition, to commemorate the brand's 140th anniversary, the brand will release limited-edition shoes (50,400 yen) for the Christmas season. Crafted from royal blue velvet, the shoes feature a crown motif embroidered on the front in silver metallic thread. Available for both men and women. Each piece will be numbered between 1 and 800 and presented in special packaging.

Church's was founded in 1873 by Thomas Church and his three sons, whose family business was handmade men's shoes. Based in Northampton, a city that has thrived as a shoemaker since the Middle Ages, the brand established itself as a luxury footwear brand not only in London but also in other European cities. In the 20th century, the brand expanded into the United States, Canada, and South America, opening its first store in London in 1921. In 1999, the brand joined the Prada Group and expanded to Milan, Paris, Rome, and New York. The Omotesando store will mark the opening of its first store in Asia, following stores in China, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
