The five winning works of the LUMINE meets ART AWARD 2013 (LMAA), an art competition sponsored by Lumine, have been selected. The five works will be exhibited at Lumine Shinjuku and Lumine Est Shinjuku from February 1st until March 5th.
The Grand Prize went to "mirage#6" by Hori Yasushi in the window category, the runner-up to "Tranquility" by Fukasawa Naohiro in the elevator category, the Lumine Award went to "CIRCUS BOX" by Chiaki Akada in the elevator category, and the honorable mentions went to "Next Time I'm Born, Again" by Honda Hiroki in the installation category and "Girls Planet" by Nishizato Sayaka in the digital signage category. The works will be exhibited inside the building.
LMAA is an award that accepts works from young artists and selects the winning works from a public submission process. The event was launched this year as part of the "LUMINE meets ART" project, where visitors can experience art while enjoying shopping and dining. It consisted of four categories: elevators, windows, installations, and digital signage, and applications were accepted from August 29th to October 31st. 569 entries were received.
