The wool-themed "The Power of Wool" exhibition will be held at ATELIER MUJI inside MUJI in Yurakucho from September 6th to October 6th.
The exhibition features a contribution from Hiroshi Kashiwagi, a design critic and professor at Musashino Art University, texts and illustrations on the unique functionality (quality) of wool, an exhibition of wool yarns with different breeds and processing methods, and clothing designs. The works feature hand-spinning, hand-knitting, and felting techniques, which are considered the origins of clothing. Wool has many excellent properties, including its moisturizing power, antibacterial properties, and water-repellent properties, and has been an integral part of human life since ancient times. This exhibition aims to reaffirm the quality of the material.
A talk event titled "Life and Wool" will be held from 7:00 PM on September 6th. Hiroshi Kashiwagi and Takehiko Sanada, a clothing designer and professor at Joshibi University of Art and Design, will discuss the relationship between humans, sheep, and wool. The talk is limited to 60 seats and requires advance reservations. Participation is free.
