Takisada Osaka Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka) has signed a share transfer agreement with J-STAR No. 1 Investment Limited Partnership, a major shareholder of Olive des Olive Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto; hereinafter "Olive"), with the aim of acquiring all outstanding shares of Olive.
Olive will join the Takisada Osaka corporate group on February 1, 2013. Aside from the dispatch of two directors from Takisada Osaka, no personnel exchanges are planned.
Olive's vision is "Live Cute," and the brand "OLIVE des OLIVE" for young women has opened stores not only in Japan but also in Shanghai and Taiwan. Takisada Osaka is a textile trading company founded in 1864, and is currently developing the overseas strategic textile brand "C.O.T.O. (Collection of Takisada Osaka)," which uses Japanese-made fabrics. The company intends to expand its strategy in China, including increasing sales at its local Chinese subsidiary, Takisada Osaka Shobo (Shanghai), to 10 billion yen by 2015 and making China its top priority country.
"Olive des Olive" was developed as an original SPA brand by Mokumoku, a mid-sized apparel company in Kyoto that went bankrupt in February 2009. The brand was owned by investment fund J-STAR.
