The world's largest international apparel fabrics and accessories trade fair, Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics Spring Edition 2014, will be held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Center in China from March 3 to 5, 2014. The trade fair, which has been held annually in Beijing since 2000, will move to Shanghai this year. The previous edition attracted 1,344 exhibitors from 16 countries and regions, and 25,000 visitors from 71 countries and regions. Following the success of the Intertextile Shanghai Autumn Exhibition held in Shanghai this fall, a significant increase in visitor numbers is expected this time around. Exhibitors from Europe will be the focus, along with accessories suppliers from China and overseas, and apparel manufacturers from overseas. The new venue, occupying Halls 1 and 2 and part of Hall 4 of the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Center, is expected to have a total area of approximately 50,000 square meters.
In recent years, rising demand for high-quality European materials has led to an increase in exhibitors from the Czech Republic, Germany, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and the UK. The Salon Europe zone will feature Milano Unica, which brings together over 100 of Italy's leading luxury material manufacturers, the German Pavilion with 11 participating companies, and the Portuguese Pavilion, which will focus on high-quality shirts. The Verve for Design zone will present the latest in textile and apparel design to apparel manufacturers as well as media outlets that disseminate trend information. The international fiber and yarn trade fair, Yarn Expo, will also be held at the same time.
The event is organized by Messe Frankfurt & Hong Kong, CCPIT-Tex (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade's Textile Industry Sub-Council), and the China Textile Information Center.
