High-end jeweler GRAFF will open in the Jewelry Salon on the 6th floor of Fukuoka Mitsukoshi on January 21st. This will be their first store in the Kyushu region.
The sales floor area is approximately 70 square meters. To commemorate the opening, they will exhibit special pieces from their home country and diamonds collected from around the world. Items include rings, pendants, and earrings. Prices range from ¥500,000 to ¥100 million.
GRAFF began expanding overseas in 2000 and currently operates over 40 stores worldwide. Fukuoka Mitsukoshi will be their fourth store in Japan.
Department stores are seeing strong sales of high-end items due to the economic recovery caused by rising stock prices. Fukuoka Mitsukoshi's Jewelry Salon sales for the October-December 2013 period increased significantly by approximately 171% compared to the previous year. With GRAFF's opening, the store is excited to "meet our customers' expectations by being the first to introduce GRAFF, a leading high-end jeweler of the 21st century."
