Adidas Originals is bringing back its iconic Stan Smith model for the first time in two years, releasing it on January 15th. Available at Adidas Originals shops and authorized retailers nationwide. This time, the shoe features a new, environmentally friendly leather. The tongue also features a portrait of tennis player Stan Smith, the inspiration behind the shoe. The silhouette has been slimmed down. The three stripes with regular holes and the off-white rubber sole remain the same. The lining is made of soft leather for an updated feel. Available in three colors: navy, green, and red. The price is ¥13,650. The Stan Smith, Adidas' signature sneaker, was introduced in 1971. It is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's best-selling sneaker. The shoe was originally named after Smith, who favored the Hi-Lite tennis shoe, released by the company in 1965.

The green version was sold in limited quantities at Dover Street Market Ginza in September last year, and since then rumors have been circulating online that it will be re-released in three colors, with various online media outlets reporting on it.
