UNITED ARROWS' new brand, ASTRAET, will open its first directly managed store at the Hankyu Umeda Main Store in February.
The store's design concept is "contemporary x vintage." It features mid-century and French modern influences inspired by the Barcelona Pavilion, a masterpiece by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, one of the three great masters of modern architecture. Marble, mirrors, wood, and plants are used in a space created with horizontal and vertical lines. A flagship store is also scheduled to open in Aoyama this spring.
The brand's target image is "mentally mature adult men and women." The product mix will be 65% original and 35% select brands, with a price range somewhere between the brand's luxury line, Drawer, and UNITED ARROWS. The creative director is Futoshi Azumaya, who launched EDITION at Tomorrowland, and the art director is Tamotsu Yagi, who is based overseas.
