Starting in 2014, GU will be introducing a "Monthly Trend Collection" with a different theme for each month in its women's line.

January's collection is "NEW ROMANTIC COWBOY," inspired by '80s music and culture. Based on a monochrome color scheme, it offers a modern take on the tough '80s woman. Items include a fringed bag (1,990 yen), a faux leather rider's jacket (3,990 yen), and a skirt (1,490 yen). Other items include a cowboy-esque western shirt (1,990 yen), cowboy boots (1,990 yen), '80s-style floral prints, and colored pants.

February's collection is Parisian Marine, March's is Grunge Fairy, and April's is Pajama Party.
