Jan 21, 2014

Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi is offering limited-edition chocolates, sweets, and premium dinner courses for the Valentine's Day season.

HENRI LE ROUX, selected as the 2013 Outstanding Chocolatier by the prestigious French chocolate enthusiasts' association, Club des Crocours de Chocolat (commonly known as C.C.C.), has released the Midtown-exclusive "Coffret Midtown" (3,150 yen). Popular chocolates, including the brand's signature C.B.S., are packaged in a sparkling package with a green ribbon inspired by Midtown. Chocolates from award-winning shops JEAN-PAUL HEVIN and patisserie Sadaharu AOKI paris are also available. Japanese-inspired chocolates are also available, including Toraya's "Yokan au Chocolat" (¥1,470), made with bitter chocolate and rum, and Sake Shop Fukumitsuya's "Sake Bonbon Chocolat" (¥1,200 for 4 pieces), filled with rare sake jelly. Botanica offers "Low-Sugar Nama Chocolate" (¥800 for 12 pieces, ¥2,000 for 25 pieces), which has approximately 80% less sugar than regular chocolate. Plain People offers healthy chocolates, including "Small Island Olive Grove Chocolate" (¥1,785), made with organic plant-based ingredients. Also, from February 1st to 14th, Los Angeles-based Compartes Chocolatier, known for its pop designs, and Tokyo Ento, known for its innovative cup-shaped cream chiffon cake, will be opening special stores on the Galleria's basement floor. The MIDTOWN RESTAURANT FAIR, where you can enjoy premium dinner courses at a more reasonable price than usual, will be held from January 26th to March 9th. French restaurants at The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo, such as Azure 45, the Indian restaurant Nirvana New York, and Union Square Tokyo, the sister restaurant of a popular restaurant loved by New Yorkers, will offer courses starting at 8,800 yen. Champagne bistro Orange and Mexican restaurant La Colina will offer courses under 5,000 yen. Also, the theme of this year's Diners Club Ice Rink in Tokyo Midtown, which attracts over 30,000 visitors every year, is "LOVE." Open until March 9th, the event will feature activities designed to deepen the love between couples and families.
