Le Pain Quotidien, a restaurant that is good for the body and mind, opens in Hibiya

Jan 21, 2014

Le Pain Quotidien, a Belgian bakery restaurant, has opened its fifth location in Japan, the Hibiya location (Marcus Orbit Building, 1-12-5 Yurakucho, Chiyoda-ku). Chef Alain Coumont opened its first Le Pain Quotidien store in Brussels, Belgium, in 1990. Since then, as of January 2014, the chain has expanded to 205 locations worldwide. The restaurant primarily serves food made with organic ingredients and strives to create a menu that is healthy for both the body and mind. The Hibiya location is the fifth in Japan, joining the Shibakoen, Tokyo Opera City, Omotesando, and Shibuya Koen-dori locations. Located near Hibiya Park, on a street lined with the Imperial Hotel, Nissay Theater, and Tokyo Takarazuka Theater, the restaurant is an open, two-story building with the brand's signature large tables, creating a relaxing atmosphere. They offer a wide variety of organic dishes, including the popular rye bread and the tartine "Shrimp & Avocado with Mango, Tomato Salsa." There is also a coffee stand on the first floor, making it convenient for commuters. Business hours are from 7:30 AM to 10 PM (last orders at 9 PM).
