Solo exhibition of photographer Kenji Hirazawa, who worked at the British "Shaw Studio," to be held at Beams

May 15, 2013

London-based photographer Kenji Hirasawa's first Japanese photo exhibition, "Portrait," will be held from May 25th to June 13th at the gallery on the sixth floor of BEAMS JAPAN in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The exhibition features and sells previously unseen prints from his thermography portrait series, which he began taking in 2003. This series, shot with a thermography camera, aims to capture the world and people invisible to the naked eye or ordinary cameras. Hirasawa has participated in numerous group exhibitions in Tokyo and London and also works for the British fashion website SHOWstudio. In 2011, he published the photo book "CELEBRITY" (Bemojake) and held a solo exhibition of the same title at a London gallery. His work has also appeared on the covers of photography magazines PHOTOWORKS and GUP.

In conjunction with this photo exhibition, T-shirts will be released by BEAMS T. An artist talk will be held from 6:00 pm on June 7th. In addition, a photo book of the same name is scheduled to be published by Libro Arte.
