"Chaumet Savoir-Faire in Dialogue with Three Japanese Master Craftsmen" Exhibition to be held at Sankeien Garden in Yokohama

Nov 22, 2021
Chaumet, the leading French high jewelry house, will hold a special public event entitled "Conversation Between France and Japan: A Dialogue Between Chaumet's Savoir-Faire and Three Japanese Master Craftsmen," showcasing over 60 exceptional pieces of high jewelry, inherited over 240 years of history, in dialogue with world-renowned Japanese master craftsmen. Based on the concept of a dialogue between French and Japanese culture, the exhibition will feature Chaumet high jewelry, some of which will be unveiled in Japan for the first time, alongside pieces created by masters of traditional Japanese arts, organized by theme.

Entrance
Chaumet jewelry will be in dialogue with three of Japan's leading master craftsmen. Bamboo artist Tanabe Chikuunsai IV, bonsai artist Kimura Masahiko, and swordsmiths Gassan Sadatsugu and Gassan Sadanobu. The "work made by hand," the commitment to materials, outstanding skills, and high spirituality of these master artisans who have mastered the secrets of their craft, all share a common thread with the profound beauty of Chaumet, a brand that France is proud of. The venue will display the masterpieces created by these master artisans alongside jewelry that can be called the art of Chaumet. Enjoy the beauty and culture of Chaumet, which aspires to beauty made by hand, and Japanese master artisans, along with the beautiful autumn foliage of Sankeien Garden.

Limited-Time Special Offer
To coincide with the special public opening of Sankeien Garden, where the autumn leaves are beautiful, we have prepared a limited-time offer.
Customers who spend 1,250 yen or more at any of the three tea shops in the garden and the four shops in the memorial hall will receive a complimentary baked confectionery with a beehive (honeycomb) motif from patisserie Mielati. The honeybee was a motif beloved by Napoleon I as a symbol of prosperity, and as the signature collection of Chaumet, which was Napoleon I's official jeweler, also features a honeycomb motif, we have specially prepared baked confectionery with the same motif.
